Jess
My Aponogeton crispus just arrived and it looks...well, let's just say very unhappy. These are very hard to get, and I may have gotten the last one, so I would like to save it if possible. Since it's a bulb plant, I'm wondering what's the best way: 1. Trim the dead leaves and plant it? (question: all the leaves are dead...is this a problem?) 2. Get the bulb out and dry it to simulate dormant period and start over (question: how in the heck to go about this???) Suggestions are welcome. Losing it is less about the money and more that I've been trying to get any kind of aponogeton for awhile now. Thanks!
Beardedbillygoat1975
Yes, exactly - trim off the dead, plant the bulb, if you have a root tab put it under it and it should respond well if the roots coming off the bulb look good.
Jess
Great! I'll give that a try. Thank you!
AndreaW
I received mine (4/1) and planted it as-is (4/3) and it's already sprouting a new leaf despite the original leaves completely melting. (Don't mind the Scarlet Temple stems that are obviously struggling, or the diatoms I'm leaving for my snails.)
