DavidR
I'd like to set up a terrarium but having some trouble finding items for it. Where is a good place to buy the actual glass terrarium? I've found a few, but none that are exactly what I'd like. I can't find a place that has a good selection. What are other good resources to buy the terrarium supplies? Serpa Design has been an awesome resource for ideas and materials, just wish I could find some of the items he uses more easily. Thanks for your help. Alesha
It's been a while since I did a terrarium, but I think I found the dishes at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Also, I imagine any established thrift store would have some fascinating glassware to choose from. HTH.
Jessica.
What shapes of glass are you looking for? I got a few "candy jars" from Michael's and use them for little emersed set ups. One has water and a snail in it, second is growing out some buce, and third is anubias nana petite. I think the brand DOOA also has some terrarium products. I've never used them, just saw some ads for them at one point.
DavidR
Thank you all. Guess I'll head to Michaels and see if they have anything interesting. Appreciate the help.
RovingGinger
Goodwill and other thrift stores are haphazard with selection but I get my best prices there for terrarium containers.
Steph’s Fish and Plants
Josh’s frogs has a lot of various supplies and plants and such designed for terrariums. Serpa design on YouTube probably has some videos talking about where he gets his glass from, if I remember correctly he collects it over the years whenever he finds a cool piece, whether it’s a thrift store or a craft store or a garage sale. I think box stores like Walmart or Meijer (if you’re in Mi) will probably have something in their plant section that you could use as well. The options seem almost endless
