Zachariah987 Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 I just got 2 sengal bichirs and am setting up there tank. I was thinking of using the blasting sand from tractor supply. Should I go with medium grit or fine grit. Or any other opinions but I would like it to be dark since they are albino. Thank you. 1
Fish Folk Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Some good tips here. I think BDBS could work. I recommend finding it out for an hour+ in a utility tub to get rid of the flag dust. (My wife still hates me for doing this in our downstairs bathroom tub … it will leave everything stained gray) I personally prefer the coarser / medium grade BDBS — I buy at Tractor Supply. Your tank will be a bit cloudy. You can run a HOB with filter floss in to “polish” the water some. In the end, you’ll just need to be patient til it settles.
H.K.Luterman Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I have blasting sand in all of my tanks, and I prefer the medium grade; it just seems easier to plant in. Here's my senegals. I have 1 big wild type male and 1 little albino male 😄
Zachariah987 Posted March 22, 2022 Author Posted March 22, 2022 Thank you....and they don't rip your plants up
