Nomoretent
Have had this tank for a year. Nothing new except neon tetras. Nerites show reluctance to get on glass now, but shrimp still hanging out on the same leaves where this is growing.
Guppysnail
Could you provide a picture. I keep several types of hydra on purpose . I may be able to help identify. Edited March 10, 2022 by Guppysnail

Guppysnail
That definitely is not hydra. I’m guessing some type of beginning algae. If the nerite is avoiding it it probably does not like the “taste”. I get a sprig of tuft type algae on my glass here and there on the back wall. My nerite leaves tracks where he literally eats a circle around it but will not touch it. I’m not one that’s good at identifying algae though. I would wipe it off the glass. Unless he is not on the glass because he is munching it off of other items. Mine goes where the tastiest things to him are. Brandon p
I don’t think all algae is bad. I don’t like it on my plants but I have some one drift wood and I love the look and the fish graze all day in it
