I've seen Trafish Aquatics (YouTube) build a shelf for 6 (or 😎 10 gallons.  2 columns of 3 or 4. 

For 2, i imagine you'd either need to anchor it to a wall stud, or put a 3rd tank on the bottom.  Otherwise the center of gravity would be too high and risk it tipping over.

I don't have that specific experience but I do want to let you know something about tanks on the ground I hadn't thought of till I had one. I assume one of the tanks will be low if not on the ground. I apologize if it is something you have already considered. Since it is low to the ground you will not have gravity to get a gravel vac started.  Just something I wanted to make sure your were aware of. Lmk if you want to know what solution I found. Others might have different ideas as well.

Yeah,  what solution you got? Have currently have a 5.5 gallon on the floor.

I got this from 2 people on this forum. I forgot who they were so sadly I can't give them credit. Basically you get a portable water dispenser and hook it up to an airline hose and use that to suction water and gravel vac. There was a video they linked as well but I don't remember it. Hopefully one of them will see this and link it!
