JenTheDroid
I have a 55 gallon. First, is is stupid to get a canister filter for a 55 gallon? Second, I don’t have an option to put the canister directly underneath. It would either have to be off to the left or off to the right. About 3-4 feet underneath. So one hose would be extra long if I’m putting the intake on one side and the output on the other side. Is that okay or no?
Colu
It should be fine and canister filter are great to use on bigger tanks my fluval 307 has a long longer hose on one side I haven't noticed any difference in flow
Widgets
Uneven hose lengths should not present any problems. I would suggest to keep the input side as short as possible. It may just be me being overly cautious, but suction on a long hose can collapse the hose in some circumstances. The pressure on the output side will keep the hose open.
