AndreaW Posted February 18, 2022 Share Posted February 18, 2022 @Jstanfill ~ I've had a tank that's ben running about 20 years that I recently moved so it was a great opportunity to remove all the calcium buildup. Vinegar helped in some areas, but the plastic rim and light hood didn't want to let the calcium go! I ended up using a pocket knife to gently scrape it. Some of it would pop off once I got it going; other areas I had so gently scrape it off in thin laters. If you have areas you can't soak, you can take a paper towel or cloth and pour some vinegar and lay it on the area to "soak" for a while. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
