Popular Post Fish Folk
I’ve kept hundreds of species of fish. Not as many as some aquarists. More than others. I’m sorry… these are the MOST BEAUTIFUL. Notropis chrosomus. Rainbow shiners. Pound sand everyone else. These fish are unbelievably gorgeous. Short video. Can’t describe how amazing… Thank you @WhitecloudDynasty for getting me into these! Just the best ever… 13

Yea but it gets 80 indoors down here during the summer; I presume they would be extremely unhappy during the summer 😉

But they’re from warm streams and rivers in Alabama. I think @WhitecloudDynasty has it right: it’s all about dissolved oxygen. adding airstones can really help. 1

Administrators Cory Posted February 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 10, 2022 Mine are eating well. Saw some color on them the other day. Haven't had much time to do anything with them though.
PineSong
In addition to their beautiful colors, I like the fin placement. They look like little planes. 1
drewzero1
I love the way they flip out their pectoral fins periodically (in the video). Kind of reminds me of how White Cloud minnows twitch and show off their fins. If I ever get tired of just keeping WCMM in my cold tanks, these are now definitely on my list!

Patrick_G
They remind me of little brook trout. Not the colors, but just the general shape of the body, especially when seen from above. Edited February 11, 2022 by Patrick_G

Maybe some hillstream loaches too while I'm at it. Right now I'm enjoying my white clouds as a species tank but I'm taking notes to expand my coldwater stocking in the future.

I have thought about creating a longer cast cpd just too look like this.
