New to plants, need advice.

@Don H, I am simple with my tanks. Mostly I use shoplights, although I did get an Aquasky for 60% off😁

I am redoing my Walstad inspired tank because the Malaysian trumpet snails decided to do their own landscaping, and I am pretty sure they were drunk😒

Iron isn't what brings out red coloration, it's predominantly light. So I bought some cheap submersible lights and light my red plants from the side.

I find dirt works better for me, although Guppysnail's zip tie approach is quickly catching on. I just wanted to reassure you that you can have low-tech gorgeous planted tanks. If you aren't interested in CO2, check out the post Streetwise made about siestas.

Programming siestas has been a total game changer for my plant game.
