cultivating fruit flys

i am recently cultivating fruit fly in a wird way i dont feed the adults because i dont have them the way i cultivate is i put alittle container with oatmeal with out lid and the fruit fly come put eggs and larvae hatch i rinse them and feed them my oatmeal is not contaminated it dosent have fungus or other bug only fruit flys what do you think?

Oatmeal is interesting, I've dabbled trying to keep a colony of wingless fruit flies at one time and I used a method like like this one: https://www.keepinginsects.com/general-care/breeding-fruit-flies/

But your oatmeal idea would be easier.

yes it work great but has to be humid and is far more economic than the complex fruit fly thing to me it dosent make sense because fruit fly reproduce in trash cans
