GeorgeJ
My new 40 breeder cycled over a few days ago and moved in the 5 buenos aires tetras and the 5 giant danios and 3 pearl danios (used the pearls to help with the cycle. But I just noticed this on the driftwood - eggs again? George
Chad
Do you have any nerite snails? I know nothing about fish and eggs (only had livebearers give birth) but those remind me of the cursed (to me) nerite snail eggs I had in my tank a while back. GeorgeJ
I don't think so - only thing real is the drift would - the plants are silk - haven't planted yet. And the substrate is clean river rock.
Colu
The fish you have are egg scatters they don't lay there eggs on wood could be snail eggs could have some hitch hikers come in of plants or wood
GeorgeJ
will they mess up the cycle or the tank - what do you suggest ? George
Biotope Biologist
That is a bacteria colony, it is pretty common on wood in a newly cycled tank. It’ll go away on it’s own and is harmless. Some fish enjoy eating it as well.
