Mohammed
Can you help me to identify what type laetacara species I have? I was sold these 2 as a pair of thayer cichlids. And they have been in my tank for a week now. Can you also please help with the sexing to confirm that I actually have a pair and not 2 males. Beautiful fish with a lot of character. The only issue that I am having is that they are biting the tails of my corydoras a little. Thanks everyone!
ScottieB
My guess is L. curviceps Looks like a male/female in that picture. Nice looking tank too! Keep feeding them well, consider adding live baby brine and try to get breeding coloration and see how it goes. Keep us updated and let’s see what happens.
Mohammed
Thanks for the advice on the diet, ive added baby brine and se blood worms to their diet, which seems to have worked as he male has darkened up and is now the clear tank boss and has stopped bullying the corydoras as much as before. Pic attached. I think you are right ScottieB, its probably a L. Curviceps too.
