Hello everyone, I’ve been into fish keeping for about 1 year. I have 5 tanks. A 75 gallon community tank which holds 4 3-spot gouramis, 2 plecos, 1 rainbow shark, 1 betta fish, a bunch of guppies, and a few cherry shrimp I see every now and then. I also have a 10 gallon betta sorority, 10 gallon mansion for my first male betta, 5 gallon cherry shrimp breeder, and a 30 gallon aquaponics tote with my cull guppies living in there.

I actually got into fish keeping by getting into aquaponics; I had no interest in fish until I started my first aquaponics system.

I am into heavily planted tanks and creating low maintenance environments for my fish.

Hello! I have heard that gouramis tend to eat dwarf shrimp, but your shrimp look great! I'm cycling my tank right now (no fish) and planning on getting pearl gouramis as my centerpiece fish. I probably have way too many plants in my 45-gal tank (2/3 of top is covered in numerous baby floating plants (red root and salvinia minima), and about 20 various plants are in the gravel) but they're all still pretty small (except the water sprite which grows extremely fast - it's already 18" tall) and I'm an aquatic plant newby so figured I'd probably kill some. I know the fish will love the plants.

I don’t think you can have too many plants! As long as there is a space for your gouramis to come up and take a breath of air. I’m not too worried about the shrimp getting eaten. I have a 5 gallon full of them I can easily replace, plus I have a large portion of Java moss they can hide in. I just added a lot of floating plants to my tanks as well. I really like the red root floaters.
