Burbotlips
My first tank in 14 or 15 years (makes me sound old) and the first with live plants. Got it to a point where I could more or less leave the scape alone and be happy. So what do you think?
Levi_Aquatics
I think it looks great! Much better than mine. The cover from plants and hardscape will be great for any fry you have!
xXInkedPhoenixX
The rocks are awesome! Will look amazing when the plants grow in!
Burbotlips
Thanks! All the hardscape including the sand just came from my yard. The guy who lived here before me bred koi and there is just piles of rock up to the size of basketballs in the corner of my lot.
Burbotlips
Started with 7 Pygmy cories, 12 guppies and a quartet of nerites, lost a snail and gained a lot of guppies.
lefty o
it should look fantastic as the plants begin to fill in.
Chad
Love it! Those rocks look great and their darkness contrasts nicely with the substrate. But I'm afraid that guppygrass (?, far right) is going to hide your beautiful sponge filter 😞 and you don't want people to miss that 😉
Burbotlips
Heh, not trying to hide it (would of used anacharis for that) but if I saw nothing but plants I would be happy 😁
Chad
Oh, I was just joking (ok, trying to) around and thought you were trying to hide it. Thought it was a good choice of plant and placement to do that too. Again, nice tank!
Burbotlips
Kinda had that feeling, but I wouldn’t doubt there are a few filter-fans cruising around here. Going to see if I can tame the guppy grass like a hedge, if I can’t oh well.🤷♂️
Patrick_G
Very nice! I like the look of the open space in front, but it’s begging for more plants! 😆
Burbotlips
I plan on using cuttings to fill space but the bacopa is growing slower than expected. The anacharis on the other hand, has put on 8-10in in a month or two. Just got some wisteria and I’m excited to see it after it’s leaves convert. The wisteria should grow fast after the conversion, not as fast as your anacharis but still fast. Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus is another cool looking fast grower I like a lot. Both plants seem to like plenty of Nitrogen.
Burbotlips
I’m not a really a fan of P. Stellatus ‘Octopus’(just doesn’t vibe with me🤷♂️) but you pointed me in the right direction. P. Stellatus ‘Broadleaf’ is next on my list of must-haves.
