Tank polishing wax residue.

My acrylic tank would look better if scratches were removed.

Some people use Novus, and some people use McGuire s, both claim to contain wax.

Are these waxes safe for tropical fish?

I have used Novus without any adverse effects. I also used ColorTone when I built my acrylic tank, as it gave better results that Novus. It is a compound used to make guitars that I "borrowed" from my husband's tool box.

take some isopropyl alcohol and mix 50/50 or so with water. wet a rag with it, and wipe off the tank. the alcohol will remove the waxes and petroleum products from the polishes. rinse tank very well after.
