New Panda Corydoras

Hello All,

I recently purchased 13 panda corydoras for my 50 gallon planted aquarium. I have a question about their behavior. All of them climb the glass all the time unless it’s feeding time or lights out. They didn’t do this as frequently  when they were in my 10 gallon quarantine aquarium. I have 2 sponge filters with air stones in the 50 gallon with them and the water parameters are good. PH is 7.0, nitrates are 20-25, and the hardness is between 75 and 100ppm. I have read a few articles about Corydoras climbing glass a lot, I am just wondering if I should be worried or not. Any insight is appreciated, thank you.

I have kept panda corys before and they did climb the glass a lot. I don't think you should be too worried about it.

I've seen a lot of my fish do it when they're first introduced to a tank. My guess is that they're learning the boundaries of where they, since they don't understand what glass is, so no, they should stop in a couple of weeks.

to me, pandas seem to be the cory that uses the most of a tank. ive had them that just loved to swim loops through a bubble wall.

That makes sense, I appreciate the quick replies. I just got worried when I moved them from quarantine. They were very calm and hid a lot now in their new home their energy level is much different. They are a super cute Cory!

I have bronze corys, I have had sterbai in the past and for me the Panda is the best for all the reasons mentioned above. I love them so much I started the Panda Cory Appreciation Society thread - 

No matter what corys are amazing creatures with so much personality in such a small package. Glad you found them and are appreciating them!
