Another Anubias question

I know anubias grow from a rhizome, but I have one on a small log, the roots are going into the substrate and coming back out a few inches away. Is this typical?

as long as the rhizome isn't buried, its fine.  My nana-petite in my tank with fluval stratum has roots that go in and out.

Agreed. The roots go here, there and everywhere, but the plants are fine as long as the rhizome is fine. I have several rafts of Anubias Nana Petite floating around inside tanks now that are doing great.

anubia roots, do like to be rooted in substrate. it is normal. i have bunches of them glued on logs, and the roots will go a long ways to get in the substrate.
