Chili rarbora color

Does anyone else notice some of their chilis will turn a dark color on the non red parts of their body. Sometimes will appear almost black while still having the red iridescent parts, although that will be a bit diminished too.

This is most likely their coloring up because they are ready to breed. I love the color changes in fish for breeding. I find it fascinating.

Thanks. I see the dark coloring on both male and females. Maybe I'll set up a spawning tank.
