Mexico City aquarium market

I have been around much because I’ve been on vacation in Mexico. Of course I had to check out this aquarium and pet shop district that was within walking district of out hotel. Like many shops in Mexico City most of these places are open storefronts with the goods spilling out onto the sidewalks. Unfortunately the planted tank/aquascaping store was close when I was there. I enjoyed checking out the unusual tank sizes.

Awesome! So happy to see this. Any shots of fish in stock there?

Most of the shops had only saltwater stock. From my research there’s a ton of freshwater and plant stores in the city, but this little district seemed to focus on marine. My limited Spanish made it hard for me to ask permission to take video, but here’s a short clip.

Did you go to La Merced market? They sell fish there too.

We walked through a ton of formal markets and open air Tianguis but I’m not sure we actually went to La Merced. I like to think I’m pretty good with urban geography and knowing where I am but the markets of central Mexico City start to look the same after a while. 🙂
