Lds760
How long should I boil driftwood to make sure it’s ready to go into the tank - and hopefully stay sunk?
Guppysnail
It does not really need boiled to go in a tank. Sinking it is an entirely different story. It depends on wood density and size. If it sinks in the pot or sinks in a bathtub it will stay sunk in a tank. Or attach it to slate or heavy rocks until it’s water logged. Boiling just really removes tannins and maybe a terrestrial critter that burrows in but would die submerged anyways. Here is a pice I have soaking that I attached to slate.
EVoyager31
There have been times where I have boiled driftwood for HOURS without it sinking. I find its easier to just drill it to a piece if slate or very soft rock. Boom. No more waiting and no worries about it floating around the tank.
