DamnKid
I’ve been seeing this white string hanging in the fish butt for 4 weeks already. I already treated my tank with paracleanse(2 times) and expel-p(3 times) and still doesn’t go away.
Gator
@DamnKid; It could very well be an internal parasite, but it could also be from a lack of roughage in the diet, yeah fish need roughage too. Feed it some frozen Brine shrimp to see if that helps.
DamnKid
@GatorIf it’s parasite, does it mean that the meds I used didn’t work?
Colu
White poop can be poop with no food in it just the mucus covering if he eating ok not losing weight I don't think it's anything to worry about Edited August 11, 2022 by Colu 3
Gator
@DamnKid; Meds meant to treat external parasites don't work on internal parasites and since you stated that this has been there for 4 weeks, your fish would be dead by now if it were an internal parasite. Do you have live plants in your tank? Your fish is a species of Tooth carp which includes Guppies, Mollies, Swordtails, and Platies, these fish nibble at algae growing on plants, and I suppose the algae provides roughage for them, but what do I know?
DamnKid
@GatorI do have live plants with algae growing on them. But I also have veggie pellets that I feed to my fish regularly. Do you think that would provide roughage?
DamnKid
@ColuI don’t think it’s a poop. It literally like a tiny string attached in its anus that doesn’t go away since the first time I spotted it 4 weeks ago. Yeah, the fish eats a lot and doesn’t look like it’s losing weight. So I guess, I’ll stop worrying for now.
