Beau Burkhalter
Well it depends on the species. Do you know what it is?

lefty o
so basically a smaller northern pike. long time ago i kept all kinds of game fish including northerns. they like to eat, and they make big poop. live food is going to be the staple for feeding. crappie minnows, creek chubs, basically whatever is an appropriate size at the local bait shop. definately a large tank fish.
Beau Burkhalter
Chain pickerel max out at about two feet or bigger. So a long term setup would require a tank at least four feet wide and six feet long. Red fin however, max out at about a foot. So a 125 minimum. Remember they need extra space because they like to dart

Once bigger will move too the 135 gal from there 700gal index pool and by the time he potentially reaches that 3ft mark I hope yo have the 1500 built. Beau Burkhalter
I don’t know the growth rate but a 1500 should be paradise. He won’t get three feet though. Only about two
