Jake
ammonia-0 nitrite-0 nitrate-0 ph- 7.8 water is really hard temp. 72 I have a fantail Goldfish that looks like it has ich. it has white spots on its fins, maybe 7 or 8 through out the fish. All the spots are on the fins, none on the body. The fish acts normal eats, nothing odd with behavior. Just has those dots, they have been there for 3 days, no other fish in the aquarium has them. Is this ich? It doesn't quite seem like it totally? any ideas and how I would go about treating it?
Mridul Singh
Hi Jake, Do the spots look like this? If so, they are probably breeding tubercles. Goldfish (and other cyprinids) get them on their gills and fins during breeding season. If not, it's probably either ich, or stress ich. If you're unsure, feel free to post pictures of your goldfish so we can further diagnose. Welcome to the forum!
RovingGinger
I would start with salt going with the co-op’s lowest suggested amount to start. If you have plants you may want to remove him. From what I have heard spots on the fins only would not be ich. And it would normally get worse over time not stay constant I believe.

Administrators Cory Posted October 8, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 8, 2020 Look like cysts as opposed to ich. Salt may help, reducing stress usually helps as well.
