Leo2o915
So question saw on the video it’s recommended for a 20 tall or higher? Can I use it in a QT 10 gallon if it’s bare bottom or have it leaning sideways a little or am I better off putting it in another tank ? In that QT have a Matten filter
Andy's Fish Den
I have never used one of these filters, but from what I saw in videos when they came out, the recommendation of a 20 tall is because of the height of the filter unit. I would also think that it would need to be upright to be able to function correctly, so the air could travel through the media and exit the way it is intended to. gardenman
I have one of the knock-off versions and as long as the media is moving, it should work fine. It's the water moving through the media and knocking the media around that makes this type of filter work. As long as that's happening, you should be fine in whatever sized tank you put it in. People make all kinds of DIY versions using the K1 media, so if you can't get the water flow necessary in a ten-gallon tank you could look to move the media to a shorter, DIY type build.
