Ulster Cichlids
Hi folks, just wondering at what age/size of a cherry shrimp would you be able to identify if the shrimp is "cull worthy". I started off my colony with 20 shrimp and there is easily 100 offspring now of different sizes. I've noticed a couple of clear shrimp with a red line on their back. Will these ever get their colour back??? Thanks in advance. Edited October 5, 2020 by Ulster Cichlids Grammer
Candi
Cherry shrimp are clear when born, but will continue to color up as they mature.

That is true, and you don't want to cull all your dull colored shrimp either! Most male shrimp lack color.
David Ellsworth
Exactly as Mridul Singh says, males will be a little clearer than females. If you only keep deep red ones you may cull out all your males so just keep an eye on that.
