Brett
In short, is the wonderful black aquarium co-op airline tubing suitable for CO2 use? Does anyone know? Thank you!
HotTunaCartel
I asked ACO through an email a few weeks ago and they said they use the tubing on all their co2 systems. I've been using mine since then and haven't had any blowouts etc. Edited December 4, 2021 by HotTunaCartel
MTAquatics
My understanding is that people worry about losing tiny amounts of CO2 by using airline tubing instead of CO2 tubing. Others don’t care much about it because they don’t see any difference between the two and CO2 is cheap to refill anyway. It’s really up to you but it shouldn’t be a problem. gjcarew
In my experience using the Aquarium Co-op airline tubing for CO2 makes it brittle and it's more likely than CO2-specific tubing to blow the diffuser off the end.
Randall from Texas
I used the thick clear tube for the run up to the U and then black ACO from the U to the diffuser. 6 months now. No issues, no leaks that I can see top or bottom.
