Fish dissapearances and loss of appetite in other fish

Two days ago I did a routine 30% water change on my 125 gallon aquairum. Yesterday I fed the tank these new bug bites pellets I bought. Today one of my rainbow fish is suddenly not anywhere to be found inside or outside of the tank, and my archers don’t want to eat more than a tiny bit. This rainbow was the largest and most active by far. No signs of poor health before this.

My paramaters are as follows. Temperature: 77.5, TDS: 299, amm: 0, nitrite: 0, nitrate: 5~, ph: 7.4, kh: 4, gh: 6.

Stocking (was): 5 clouded archers, 6 Denison barbs, 6 bosemani rainbows.

Anyone have any idea what could be going on? I’m sure nobody does but figured I’d ask. Entering a bit of a panic and unsure what to do. Would do a water change but this would be an insane process due to my horrible tap and need for RODI water. Thanks for any help or advice you may have!

Was the package of bug bite sealed properly? Expired? Smell worse than normal fish food? Could the one have passed and the others consumed it limiting their appetite?  Just trying  to brainstorm for you. That is quite a conundrum.

It was sealed and they don’t expire until middle of next year. They smell like fish food to me, I know that isn’t terribly helpful. It’s mostl likely that the one passed and the others ate it I suppose. But I’ve been told that archers never eat dead things like that, and I assume it would’ve died at the bottom of the tank, where no archer ever goes.

I have a very tight lid, and no pets

That is so mysterious and frustrating! I have never kept rainbows or archers, but from the rainbow fish I've seen here on the forum, it's hard for me to picture other fish consuming the whole rainbow fish to the point where there is literally nothing left for you to see. I am sorry this is happening for you.

I’m having a really really really awful night. This ontop of other things. Often times aquariums and my escape from stressors and other things that bring me down and I really don’t need to be worrying about my other fish, my dream fish archers especially

Yes, I recognize that feeling. Most of the time tanks are a peaceful haven, but when they aren't, it's miserable.

Have you checked your water parameters? Have you put your hand in the tank to see if a heater is maybe giving off some electricity that might be disturbing your fish? Did anyone spray any cleaning products or room fresheners or anything that might have gotten into your water?

Sorry, that is all I can think of.

These are good things to test. In my original post I have my paramaters that I recorded right when I posted. Thanks!

Oh gosh, you're right! I breezed right past that to looking up clouded archers!

Checked electricity. Nothing. Even touched metal objects to try to get something. Roomates claim to not have sprayed anything.

Sorry things are rocky right now, I recently had a fish disappear with no trace as well. Not to mention the three shrimp I had that disappeared.

Wish I could help, but I'm a bit of a newbie myself so all I can say is good luck and I'm pulling for you!

If your tanks heavily planted it's more than likely died and it's body's in the plants how old was the rainbow fish as bosemani life expectancy is 5 years but they can live to 8

He was only 5 months or so. Not even full grown

@Gannon, how are your archers today? Have they gotten their appetites back?

They have a bit more appetite. Saw some good and some stringy poops from fish today. Still wondering whether or not I should treat for parasites in case that’s the issue
