Kyle murfitt
This seems to be the only algae I struggle with In my 55, I trim most leaves that get a large buildup. The Bacopa has been the biggest struggle since putting into the tank. Just switched to a plamted plus 48" but had the same issue before with the t5 fixture. 9 hour light cycle and the new light maxes out at 50% Parameters. Ammonia. 0-0.5 Nitrates. 5 ppm Nitrites . 0 Ph. 7.4 Any help or recommendations appreciate. Thanks
Colu
I would cut the light cycle to 8hr a day and spot treat the BBA with seachems flourish excel or co-op's easy carbon 1

Colu
I had BBA like that in the past i cut back on the light to 8hr a day and used flourish excel that worked for me you could also add some floating plants to help diffuse the light
Patrick_G
I agree with @Colu, cut back the light to 8 hrs and spot treat with Excel. If it’s still persists after three weeks cut another 1/2-1 hour of light. You can also get some more fast growing plants to help outcompete the algae.
OnlyGenusCaps
Sure looks like an Audouinella species. 55 gallons is a lot to treat, and I'll second @Colu's advice to spot treat it, but I'd use H2O2 instead. It doesn't stick around. Less chance of it becoming dangerous to your fish. And it's so very satisfying to see the algae bubble away and die. 😈
