Does anyone have images of Anubias, Java Fern, and Java Moss attached to Mopani Wood and Dragon Stone that they would share?

I am in the process of setting up my first freshwater planted aquarium and would definitely appreciate the sharing of aquascaping layout ideas.

Please include common name of plant species in the images.

Thank you,

Jay

Wow, thank you for the great photographs.

I see layout in each photograph that I would like to emulate

I attached an image of my Mopani Wood. I have the seven pieces in two 35-tubs. They have been soaking sine 09 June 2021 and continue to leach tannins.

Below is my basic plan to setup and populate my aquarium.

If you have comments, please provide.

MOPANI WOOD, SEVEN PIECES.jpg

Seems like you have a great plan! Everything sounds good to me. You have some very interesting pieces of wood there as well, to help stop the tannins you could do as many water changes as possible on it and use warm/ hot water if possible. Although I like tannins and would only spray clean then soak long enough to make sure it sinks. And IMO that tank would look amazing as a darkwater set up. That might be a biased opinion tho seein how that’s what I’ve been working on last couple months.14804DBE-1C98-4472-817C-A2DDAEB0617A.jpeg.5d26715e9b460f7cdcce50644f89f44b.jpeg

Its not Mopani but I some Anubias tied in the branches of that log and some Java moss on the rock in the center.

again great plan hope to see some pics when you get it all set up

Thanks Atitagain,

I like your “Anubias tied in the branches of that log and some Java moss on the rock in the center” layout.

I plan to continue soaking the Mopani wood for at least 2-3 more months.

As to leaching tannins, I may, on temporary basis, add another Fluval 407 Performance Canister Filter with Purigen to remove tannins

Very nice Anubias.

Your photograph also captured one of my favorite fish, Harlequin Rasboras

The more I see outstanding examples of Anubias, I am leaning toward aquarium predominately populated with various species of Anubias.
