Any secret to cleaning aquarium glass top hinge?

There always seems to be a bunch of gunk and nasty old food particles that get trapped in the plastic hinge and I can never seem to get it all out hoping someone has the answer.

I take my lids outside on an angle and run h2o2 down inside and use a dedicated toothbrush

I get water deposits and algae, razor blades do wonders, also q-tips for the hinges but I dont really clean those.

Letter opener tip. It breaks up all the gunk and crud. Then, I either blow out the crumbs, or get in there with a slightly wet paper towel. 

It's usually a combo of things. But, the tip of a letter opener is a great start to break it all up.

Razor blades are where it’s at for glass lids and tanks.

I’ve used baking soda and water for years. Rinse thoroughly and I always make sure it is completely dry before placing back on top of the aquarium. It’s literally the easiest thing in the world.
