Can fish eat bananas?

I have a surplus of bananas and I was wondering if I could feed some to my community tank.

I have seen videos of shrimp eating them. Also a few fish but they didn't seem as interested as the shrimp.

Havent tried banana, but the puffer did eat some strawberry

I haven’t tried Banana but my goldfish like watermelon.

Banana peel works great and snails love it.  Banana fruit is like adding a big dose of Bacteria AE to your tank- it degrades quickly and ends up coating and "sliming" nearby decor and glass.

Yeah  if it were me and I wanted to try it, I wouldn't leave it in there very long.

Of course I was stupid enough put the banana slices in my tanks then walking away and not checking until this morning. The little banana slices were enough to cause an amonia spike.  My advice to anyone trying this, put it in very small amounts.

Have you thought of using the bananas for bread and smoothies? Never would have thought to give to the fish.
