eatyourpeas
I have been noticing how some of my critters behave towards/treat Ramshorn snails in their tanks. This is what I have found: - Amano and Neocaridina shrimp play basketball by dribbling the little guys. - Pea puffers do target practice. - Betta and sparkling gourami knock them off the plants and tank walls. - Kuhli loaches do the power skating/ice hockey mean shoving. - Corydoras pretend not to see them and bulldoze them. - Bladder snails make fun of them and don't do much more than pure on-the-spot humiliation. Has anyone else had the pleasure of watching their own aquarium sports channel? Edited September 24, 2021 by eatyourpeas
Guppysnail
My baby guppies play what’s inside the mystery snail shell and try to swim all but in it, and oooh is that antenna a worm. The juvenile guppies also get ahold of small bladder snails and play tug of war. My panda Cory see any mystery snail with a wafer and try repeatedly stealing it. My snails now hold the wafer with their foot and curl around it. My BN plecos scoot behind my mystery snails pushing their foot..not sure what’s that’s about..then shine their shells. My shrimp are simply tiny terrorists to everyone!
sudofish
My Electric Blue Acara bit one in half. There was an audible crunch and red ramshorn pieces floating everywhere. Pretty unsettling. I learned snails can't go in that tank. In my other tank my betta bit all the antennas off the snails in there. After that she leaves them alone for the most part though occasionally she flares at them and knocks them off the glass and watches them fall.
ARMYVET
I am in the process of breeding fish and snails....well fish really...the 30 plus mystery snails I have currently have not yielded a single egg sack to date but still trying. I am also breeding Assasain snails who have recently blessed me with a few dozen packets of eggs. I do feed them pond snails and bladder snails but refuse to give them Ramshorn snails. The Rams are the elite of the pest snail world...lol
