Can I breed in a 5.5?

Least Killifish is a fish that I've been wanting to try out for myself. They are a livebearer, and only get to about 0.5 - 1 inch. Defentley a very cool fish.

Other killifish species may work great as well such as clown killifish.

However I'm not sure how these two species do in soft water, you'll have to look into that.

Look at some of the annual species of killies. A 5.5 would be a mansion for them. Tank can be room temp with some peat as substrate or a spawning mop depending on which species you're keeping, and just a sponge filter on low flow. Once they have spawned you can pull the parents in a deli cup, drain the water and pull the substrate and just let the water drain so that it's damp but not soaked. From there you just label the bags with the date of the lay and let them incubate in a cool dark closet. Re setup the tank, reintroduce the parents and start over. Months down the line add the incubated substrate and you'll see babies hatching in no time.
