Kerby
I have a new 14 gallon rimless planted tank started! I'm cycling it now. I'm using cycled media so I'm hoping within about another 2 to 3 weeks I can stock it! Just curious to as what everyone's opinion what would look good in it! I'm open to any suggestions! Thanks! 1

You might like a black backing to make the island pop out. Some options to consider… (1) Corydoras (6x - dark colored on light substrate) + school of 10x Brilliant Rasboras + 1x male Apistogramma Agassizii (2) 1x Bristlenose Pleco super red + a pair of ca German blue Rams + 10x Cardinal Tetras
Kerby
I really like the first option mentioned. I'm definitely going to get some corydoras! They are one of my favorites! I've never had an apistograma.
Atitagain
@Fish Folkwow both are excellent choices I like # 2 the best tho. I’m gonna say 8-10 salt n pepper corys, 2 ivory mystery snails, then pack as many cardinals tetra as possible.

That many Cory's wouldn't be great since there isn't a lot of substrate for them to surf. Edited September 6, 2021 by Tihshho

I see, I haven’t had much if any experience with tanks this size I’ve always had 55Gs up to 150G. Until recently my real suggestion is listen to @Fish Folk Edited September 6, 2021 by Atitagain
Patrick_G
I like the first option @Fish Folk suggested. If you could t find those Rasboras you could sub White Clouds or Rummy Nose Tetras. Edited September 6, 2021 by Patrick_G

Patrick_G
Also you might want to get something in there to produce waste and feed the bacteria in your cycled media. Even a Mystery Snail will work but I’ve had luck with a small initial stocking.

I intentionally left a bunch of my substrate open for my corys for that exact reason - and of course they spend at least as much time and probably more surfing through plants and over drift wood snuffling around for snacks like they do, typical! I think some corydoras for the bottom, some chili rasboras swimming about, a few otocinclus to keep the plants clean (also for looking super cute resting on leaves) and some blue cherry shrimp for a pop of blue colour would look great together in this scape.
Taco Playz
Pygmy cories are a cool option!
anewbie
FOLKS this is a 14 gallon aquarium. DO NOT put a bn pleco or school of rummy in a 14 gallon aquarium. Nor do you want a school of larger cory. pygmy might work and they are a really neat fish but 14 gallon; esp if it is as tall as it looks in the picture (not much bottom space) is probably a bad fit. shrimp are a good bet; oto - well they do best in larger schools and again your aquarium is a bit limited on size.... I would go for smaller more stationary fishes like ember tetra, neon tetra and some of the rasbora. Avoid the fishes that are super active or larger than an inch. It is really tempting to get something like borelli or Agassizii but even a non breeding male will be pushing it - of the two i believe the borelli is a bit smaller and more passive. Personally i would look for pencil or a rasbora for the top and shrimp for the bottom. I'm not sure about the middle - i'll let other comment. Just avoid pleco they have no business in a 14 gallon tank though in theory you could have an clown if your heart was set on it. -- I'm sorry I got so caught up in commenting on others suggestion a couple of fishes you might consider are dario dario (should be ok with shrimp but they are finicky eaters and dry food is probably not going to work with them); peacock gudeon (they might nip at the shrimp). Patrick_G
@KentFishFanUK, I like your idea too. Chilis would look great. Otocinclus and some shrimp are a must have.
JettsPapa
Corydoras pygmaeus spend more time higher in the water column than other cory species, so a school of them might work. Add a dozen or so nice blue neocaridina shrimp and you'd be good to go. The shrimp would be all over the plants and decor, not just on the bottom. If you go with this, I'd highly recommend waiting several months before adding the shrimp. They constantly graze on biofilm, so your chances for success are much higher if you give that time to develop. Also, I agree with pretty much @anewbiesaid above.
