BriannesFishFam
I want to get a breeding pair/trio of black venezuelan corydoras, I was told by the breeder he keeps 8-10 in a 10 gallon. And that he would do a pair/trio in a 5.5 no problem. Thoughts?
Tihshho
Bigger the tank the better. I always make a point to not attempt breeding in tanks less than 10 gallons, and if I can 20's. Smaller tanks fluctuate a lot with parameters, and when you're working on breeding you want to keep up with feeding heavy meals of good foods (not over feed, but just enough to keep weight on the fish.) With a heavy food intake you're going to get a lot of waste output. Vacuuming substrate or bare bottoms takes a lot more water than most think, so keeping up with the waste means you're going to be doing decent water changes. Small changes in a big tank are big changes in a small tank, if that logic makes sense.
GameCzar
I think you guys could handle the maintenance for it, should only be about 7 inches of fish. I think it could work, but @CorydorasEthan probably would be the one to ask!
Guppysnail
I am not familiar with that particular Cory but I think most Cory breed in larger groups vs pair/trio. I’m not an expert though so just something you may want to look into. I do agree with the larger tank especially raising fry

Just wanted some insight from fellow nerms
