I haven’t really done much to this tank in several months but but I kinda like the way its grown out without intervention. It’s become a little bit jungle and a bit nature aquarium.

I just set up the same light on my 20 fry tank!  What do you have your brightness settings at ? And the tank looks great btw

My 11 gal was starting to get a bit crusty, even before I left for a two week vacation. I gave it a thorough cleaning and trimming and it’s looking a bit more presentable. I’m still thinking about doing a complete redo, but it’s ok for now.

I see Rummies....are there Embers in there too?

I started with six Rummies about a year ago and I’m down to one. There’s also six Chili Rasboras, some “Fred’s Guppies”, Red Neos, a Kuhli Loach and a pair of Pygmy Corydoras.

I always feel the need to redo things even when they’re going well. I usually use the excuse of buying a new plant or some hardscape or fish/inhabitant. Tinkerers all of us. It’s still looking amazing @Patrick_G. Is that the ONF light?

Haha, yeah, I was thinking some new plants or bits of hard scape would definitely help make this one look less bland. My kiddo thinks a Betta would be fun and I think I agree but I’ll have to move or re-home the Chilis and k class guppies.
The light is a Fluval Nano.

Bettas have won me over. I’d always thought of them as not enjoyable but they’re super trainable and ours now comes at a tap on the glass. He’s started using the floating betta cave we provided him and the hole in the top is now where I feed him. We got a giant hybrid named DJ Turbo whom I’m very happy with. I’d order a really nice alien betta online next time or if DJ passes that’s the way I’d go.

I’m totally with you. This tank was actually bought for a Koi betta we had imported from Thailand early in the pandemic. He was a great  and very interactive fish but died suddenly after only 6-7 months.

I did some rearranging for a more minimalist look. I really want to get some new stone and wood to do a complete reset, but for now this is what I came up with. You’ll notice some water damage on the console. It’s from airstone mist collecting on the Philodendron leaves and dripping down the side of the tank. I would have caught it sooner but was on vacation when it was happening 😬3DC80163-8420-468C-B0F9-908DC2E7A635.jpeg.96c57ea9671a743cae8eebaaea2fde8f.jpeg

I guess I am ORD. 😍 I love the new look. What prompted the drastic change?

I started doing a routine water change and glass clean but then decided to pull out all the Sprite and Wisteria since it was looking a little yellow. One thing led to another and I ended up moving almost everything.

@Patrick_G how is the hands of cube and wabi kusa doing?

Thanks for asking! It’s looking really overgrown, and due for a reset later this summer or fall. Although I might not be super happy the look, the Japan blue-gold guppies, a few Chilli Rasboras and a single Notho killifish seem to love it.
I’m planning on replacing it with a Dutch style 60p high tech setup.

The Wabi Kusas have become nano tanks and they soldier on with no maintenance other than top up and the occasional glass scraping.
