could lemon tetras and harlequin rasboras live together in 20 gallon long tank? And if so, how many of each?

I'm pretty new to fish keeping and I'm planning to get fish in the next week or 2 (there's a few live plants in the aquarium and a mystery snail right now. tanks been cycling for 3 weeks).

and any tips or tricks for cleaning/maintaining fish tanks is appreciated!

thanks.

In theory they could but it depends if they get along. Schooling fish feel comfortable in as big a school as possible, so if you're looking for a two color effect, maybe look for purple harlequin rasboras to mix with the regular ones. They should all intermingle but contrast nicely. Just a thought.

The same idea could work for any schooling fish that has multiple color morphs within the same species.

Or sexually dymorphic fish where males look different than females
