Seized
Ive got a crypt spiralis in my 20 gallon tank that is covered in Staghorn Algae. Does anyone know how i can get rid of this algae problem?
StephenP2003
I have dipped other crypt species in 3% h2o2 for a few minutes with no issues. Spot treatment works too, maybe day 1 H2O2 then day 2 Excel/Easy Carbon. I don't think any fish/snails/shrimp eat it, except when it's dead or dying. Marnol D
I was struggling with staghorn and I used liquid carbon sources (flourish excel and co-ops liquid carbon) to get rid of it. I would apply directly to the infected areas with a heavy dose of the liquid carbon from a syringe and about 4 days later I noticed it dying off. You can also do the same with hydroperoxide but i've only had luck treating BBA with it and even then the liquid carbon did better to treat it. RyanR
I used Flourish Excel and it got rid of my stag horn in about a week. I read this article.
