wild caught vs. tank raised - corydoras

Anyone else have problems with wild caught cories? Seems like every time I get one it doesn't do well and is too nervous to be comfortable. The tank raised just go about their business.

It's probably because of water parameters.

I’ve bought two different species of wild Corydoras from Aquarium Coop. The Pandas were shy at first then perked up. The Pygmy were outgoing at first then became shy after a few months.

@Nooby@Patrick_G@Mmiller2001thanks guys! Yeah, I was thinking maybe water parameters need to be exactly the same as the wild. The big Robustus I got only comes out at night. He's been here for 2 weeks now. There isn't much information online about them.

It could have to do with the number of corydoras you have in the wild Cory move around in groups of thousands in tank we keep them in small groups 3-6 most of the time  that makes them more skittish

@Colu You're right. I don't think I will do wild again.

I think the shy bit is partly due to species and not being wild. I've had both tank raised and wild pygmy and they seem to always end up on the shy side. The only time they sat in front in the open was when the kribs kept everyone else away. All my sterbai are shy and i believe they are mostly tank raised. Anyway @Nakattack i would look for a more out going species like eques as oppose to wild vs tank raised.

What are your parameters? How many corys are you getting at a time. If possible I always try to get a dozen and they seem way more outgoing in larger numbers
