How heavy is an 80 gallon fish tank.

Tank weight is variable glass vs acrylic etc decor variable rock vs wood vs resin substrate variable stratum vs gravel etc a gallon of water is somewhere in the neighborhood of8.25 lbs depending on how full you fill a lot of variables but I hope that helps you narrow it down also the weight of your stand yeah your probably real close to your 1000

i usually figure a tank is about 12 pounds per gallon filled. thats counting tank, water, substrate. of course if you put huge rocks in it, it will go more. then you have to also figure in the weight of the stand. 80 gallon glass tank will come in pretty close to 1000 pounds.

Ok, thank you. I think i will go with a 60 gallon.

a 60 will definately make weight.  a glass 75 full, on a stand should come in at 950 or less as another option.
