FishyMike
Hello everyone, Just tried my hand at drilling my first 10 gallon tanks. the first was a miss i tried the template then removing it but because the bit was so new it was very much "sticky" and it just grabbed the right way and cracked a bout an inch. so on try 2 i decided to keep the template there and it was nearly perfect except for a small crack and that's why I am here. what do you guys think GO or NO GO? the next 2 came out great slow and steady wins the race..... Andy's Fish Den
The problem is that the glass on a 10 gallon tank is so thin, I have drilled many tanks and I hate drilling tens. I would be afraid to use it. You could put the bulkhead in and silicone the heck out of it and be good for years. But, the first time that the bulkhead or the piping connected to the bulkhead gets hit a little, it will tweak it and make that crack bigger.
StevesFishTanks
Wouldn't recommend using that one.
lefty o
cracks only do 1 thing in glass, they grow, and then grow some more. id not use it.

StevesFishTanks
When I drill 10s I never have any luck when drilling right in the center. The dollar per gallon 10s will break if you look at them wrong, I have the best success when I drill closer to where the 2 pieces of glass are joined. 1
