Shrimp are fantastic at removing this type of debris if your tank is suitable and your other inhabitants will leave them alone.

I agree or if you use a wave maker / powerhead you could change flow direction.  If you use a canister move your return up or down in the tank to blow across the plants. A v pattern pointing the flow at the front center of the tank works well. Hob you can relocate more center in tank. Powerhead I think it’s called for a sponge ( never used that one but seen one in a video somewhere)
