BlueLineAquaticsSC
I’m looking for something long and snakey to go in my 90g. It has to be tough enough to stand up to CA cichlids, but not big enough to eat tiger barbs. So far the best idea I have is a Ropefish but I’ve heard it might not fair well with the cichlids. mountaintoppufferkeeper
Anything snake like with anything cichlid that might give it a test bite could be problematic. I would try whatever is the most enjoyable to my eye. I haven't personally kept any of these : The Senegal bichir @MAC suggested, maybe another bichir species you like. The Mastacembelus eels ( fire eels, spiny eels, etc ) are pretty snake like and could be pretty interesting the caution would be they would likely freak out if bitten. Dojo loaches - foot long hotdogs with interesting color morphs now. They seem to be really active in the videos I've seen. Might also freak out if bitten. BlueLineAquaticsSC
Senegal was my first through since it’s the smallest bichir, however I’ve heard they will definitely eat the tiger barbs eventually. I have heard that freshwater eels and dojo loaches are just to docile to be kept with the cichlids. anyone have any experience keeping these together successfully? GameCzar
Maybe an African Rope Fish would work? Its an interesting challenge. 🙂
