mountaintoppufferkeeper
Decided this would be a good oppertunity to grab some eggs out to a tumbler and see if i got any fry out of it. This is about 1/4 of the spaen and the male is gusrding the cave where they were laid.

mountaintoppufferkeeper
@ColuThanks. They are fairly prolific breeders it seems. I believe I only got 1/2 of the eggs he was guarding in the cave. Now time to learn about how long and if they develop; possible I should have waited a little longer to grab them but learning as I go. Very interesting project so far.

How did you extract them (physically) and with them guarding the cave?
mountaintoppufferkeeper
@Dancing Matt I cut off a 7' section of COOP airline tubing from my roll and used a 3' foot pair of tweeezers to hold it where I wanted it in the tank. Started the siphon to a container of tank water and controlled the 6" of tubing extending into the cave with the tweezers. Fairly quick and easy to siphon a few eggs out. Regardless of what happens hatch wise it was very helpful to see the size and shape of the eggs for next time. Hopefully a few hatch for me since that timeline would be excellent knowledge to obtain for future use. 2
