So I would like to start feeding live food to my fish because I just had some breeding activity today from my golden panchax killies. I want to do brine shrimp but I hear its kind of hard to do. I was thinking maybe something that I could catch or just leave out like a old peanut butter can and maybe I could get some stuff but idk. I'd like to do something really easy but super cheap. Thanks

Ok so being old and never dealing with live food other than what I collected wild I fought brine shrimp until I was on here awhile and had to try. I came up with this just to see so it was easy…when I say easy I mean old lady stupid easy to hatch these things without all the diy soda bottles hanging everywhere. Drop airstone with a weight little mini heater to hatch faster but not needed into iced tea dispenser salt baking soda if low ph bubble wait 26-36 hrs shine light at dispenser and dispense. Works same as the ziss hatchery (which I have upgraded to my fish and fry adore these brine shrimp) just pennies on the dollar the ones to low in container I used a turkey baster to retrieve.  Someone on here gave me the dispenser idea I can’t take credit.

Okay right on it. Could I do a mason jar?

I’m not sure I think shallow is better. It always worked me. There are videos also apparently you can culture vinegar eel without a starter culture but it take quite awhile. You could also talk to your local fish and game department and find out what bugs are and indigenous to your waterways then reference that against which would not carry parasites and be safe for aquarium fish and just go pick them up from nature but that is risky. I used to years ago but the fish I kept were all wild caught not line breed so we’re much hardier.
