Beginning breeding for profit

I’d like to get into the world of breeding f fish for profit, and I’m using profit very loosely here because I’m totally fine with spending more money to keep a tank running than I make on the fish I sell. My question is what fish can I keep in my shed year long that would be fairly easy to breed for at least part of the year. I live in SC and the shed is not insulated, I’ve kept a 10g in there before and in the summer the water would stay in the mid 90s. At winter it won’t go under 65. Any suggestions on something that could tolerate these temps? Also specifically I’d love to keep some shrimp, would any of the typical species be ok?

If you live in SC it should be fine. I would try white clouds and ricefish because they like colder temps. Cherry shrimp would be fine and so will most Neocardinia species.

Man this sounds like fun.   Zebra Danios aren't too hard to breed either, and they are good without heaters.

Let me know if you decide to breed guppies, I'm always keeping an eye out for more sources!

Guppies and neocaridina shrimp would probably be okay with those conditions, but before you get too far along I'd suggest doing research on your market.  There's no point in raising a bunch of stuff that you can't sell.

Thanks for the suggestions, I knew those fish and shrimp could get that cold, I was more worried about how hot it was. And my local LFS will take shrimp for sure and most of the fry, just for credit though

I would be concerned about the extended temperature of mid 90s.  I believe that is where the issues would occur.

Variatus platys, rainbow shiners, and all of the fishes above. The most expensive are the shiners, ricefish and some of the rarer guppies.
