Hello,

Is anyone aware of a natural (no dyes) black sand for aquariums?

Black Diamond Blasting Sand available at tractor supply. It is naturally black coal slag and used by many forum members.

I second the Black Blasting Sand from Tractor Supply.

I used Safe T Sorb also from Tractor Supply. (Looks more natural to me.)

Either way make sure you clean the HECK out of it.

I use black blast from Menards.  Basically the same as black diamond

Is the blasting sand fine sand like pool filter sand or more course like Top fin or Marineland brand sands?

It comes in a 'fine' version and a courser 'medium' version. The medium version is more popular as an aquarium substrate.
