dorschman
anyone have thoughts as to what I can expect from the fry given the difference in the ram parents?
DSH OUTDOORS
Flip a quarter twice, two heads = looks like black parent, two tails = look like yellow parent, one of each who knows.. Now do this for all 200 fry and you should have an answer. 😂 Seriously though, without the history on both parents it is going to be hard to guess what they are going to look like. Update us when you find out though!!!
CalmedByFish
If you know the coloring of the 4 grandparents, you might be able to make some good guesses about dominant and recessive color genes.
dorschman
Yeah I don't know any history on them so I guess I will see what I get!
Beardedbillygoat1975
If you want more black you’ll probably need to cross back to black. I think @Dean’s Fishroomindicated he gets a lot of gold rams from his blacks. I think the percentage of fulls blacks is below 25% even breeding black to black - I think the offspring end up being mostly golds and half blacks.
