Do you need to boil spider wood

Hey guys, I would like to try to start a spider wood aqua scape. Do I need to soak or boil this type of wood like others??

do you need to, no. spider wood does like to float for a while, the other thing with spider wood is whatever its sap is, will grow a white fungus on the wood for up to a month or so. the fungus is harmless, and some fish even like to eat it. i would personally soak it for a week or more, just knowing its going to want to float.
