Anthony Rodriguez
When adding root tabs to a tank that is already planted should i still try to create a grid or just place them around the existing plants
lefty o
just stick them in near the plants. doesnt do a lot of good to stick fertilizer where there are no plants. 1
Dirtydave
I'm with lefty.Just tuck them underneath the plants .If using easy green you could punch a pinhole in them to help insure they stay down. Not a big issue for me though.Once in a while one may float up but just grab it and put it back
ARMYVET
No point in putting root tabs where there are no root feeding plants...save some money that way and just feed the current plants...if you decide to add more plants you can always add more tabs.
Anthony Rodriguez
Thank you all very much thats what i figure but wasnt sure if placing them in a grid would create better root growth
Daniel C
You have a good point there about creating better root growth. But I've always put them under or near the plants as well. Still, Cory says we should experiment and "see what would happen if I did this.... " 🙂
Fresh
I've learned myself on here to just use them for the plants that actually need them. I wasted a couple tabs on the wisteria's since they're not root grown
Alexa
I place root tabs “around” where I think the root structure is, rather than right underneath… My thinking is that the roots will grow out and tap into the nutrients.
